This course provides the skills necessary to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for a non-breathing casualty until arrival of medical help.

Covered in this course are the following elements & Learning Objectives
• Identify and control Dangers
• Identify and Control infection risks using appropriate protective devices
• Understand basic anatomy & physiology of chest, airway, respiratory and cardiovascular systems
• Follow the Basic Life Support flowchart – DRSABCD in a rescue scenario
• Recognise an unconscious breathing Casualty and manage by placing into recovery position
• Recognise an unconscious non-breathing casualty and manage by Performing 2 mins of CPR
on Adult manikin (placed on floor) & Infant manikin (placed on a hard surface for 2 minutes
• Perform CPR on an adult manikin on the floor in a multiple rescuer scenario
• Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in a simulated CPR rescue scenario
• Communicate Incident Details to Emergency Services
• Understand Legal, Workplace & community considerations
• Follow State/territory/professional regulations &/or codes of practice

After successful completion of the course and achievement of the learning objectives, the candidate will
receive a Statement of attainment for HLTAID01 PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
