Just recently a young woman came into the bookshop seeking assistance with the Access Point (Medicare and Centrelink). She needed to fax a document.
I showed her the fax machine, noting that she looked quite confused. It was this point that I realised she did not know what a fax machine was as she was far too young. I felt about 150 years old!!!!
When I returned to the bookshop I was laughing about this delightful interaction and related the story to some customers and volunteers. This prompted a wonderful conversation about past technologies; teletext, Gestetners, cassettes and videos. Oh how times have changed!!
