3 week workshop commencing Wednesday 4th September 5pm – 6:30pm As a follow on from the Kerferd Oration there will be a series of workshops which will focus on developing interpersonal communication skills to enhance our capacity to “listen”. The workshops are hands-on and will involve individual work, paired work, and group work as well as some teaching to explore and develop our understanding of what it means to ‘listen’. The workshops will have a generalist approach and will not be about teaching therapy, but it will give you a tool kit of skills to enhance your capacity to listen more effectively. Each workshop builds on what is learnt from the previous workshop. Session 1: Knowing yourself, knowing others. Session 2: Putting it together – an exploration of using the skills in conversation. Session 3: Reflections – an exploration of the learning’s and understanding that have come from “listening” You will need to bring pencil and paper to make your own notes. There will be no study notes supplied.

Sunday 8th September 12pm – 2pm Anni shows you great ways to feed a family. Foods rich in complex carbs, from the base for easy, tasty, filling nutritious meals for everyone to enjoy. Changing our eating patterns to include just one plant based meal a day can make measurable improvements to health. Those eating healthy vegan or vegetarian diets fare better than those eating even a healthy omnivorous diet. In the next two classes run by Plant based Health Advocate, Anni Turnbull, she shows you how to change to a more plant based diet with simple delicious recipes, shopping tips and support, so that you can improve your diet for health and longevity.”

This seminar touches on the why and how of whole food plant-based nutrition and includes evidence-based principles for optimal health. It provides a good overview for those new to a plant-based diet or to those already plant-based who are trying to optimise their health through diet. Jenny and Malcolm are both qualified nutritionists (Deakin Uni) and have completed the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from eCornell. Malcolm is a practising GP and Board Certified Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner. Jenny is also a qualified wellness coach.

HLTAID003 – CPR & FIRST AID Monday 2nd December 8:30am – 2:30pm This course covers all the skill and required knowledge to provide first response in an emergency, life threatening incident and casualty management. Upon successful completion of this course, the candidate will be issued the Statement of Attainment HLTAID003-PFA This is an 8 hr workshop with 5 hrs in house and up to 3 hrs online pre-course. The pre-course MUST be completed, signed and printed before attending the in-house course.
